Privacy Policy
We built Treazured to help you give better gifts — not to mine your data. Here's a plain-English explanation of what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are
Treazured is an iOS application ("we", "us", or "our"). Questions about this policy can be directed to [email protected].
2. What we collect
Account information
- Your email address, or your Apple ID token if you use Sign in with Apple
- A display name, set automatically from your email or Apple account
Recipient profiles
This is the core of what makes Treazured work. When you add someone to the app, you provide:
- Their name, relationship to you, and approximate age or date of birth
- Interests, personality notes, and any other details you choose to enter
- Upcoming occasions (e.g. birthdays, anniversaries)
- A default budget
You control what you enter. Nothing is required beyond a name.
Saved gifts and reactions
- Gift suggestions you save for later
- Reactions you give to suggestions (e.g. "more like this", "too pricey") — used to refine results within a session
- Gifts you mark as given — stored persistently so Treazured avoids suggesting the same gift again in the future
Usage analytics
We collect pseudonymised usage events (e.g. "suggestion generated", "gift saved") linked to your account ID to understand how the app is used and where to improve it. We do not collect your name or email in analytics events.
3. How we use your data
- To generate gift suggestions tailored to the recipient profiles you create
- To save and surface gifts you've bookmarked
- To keep your account and data in sync across sessions
- To understand how the app is being used and improve it over time
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it to train AI models.
4. AI and how suggestions are generated
When you request gift suggestions, we send relevant recipient profile data to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate personalised recommendations. This includes: the recipient's name, relationship, approximate age, gender, interests, personality notes, any additional notes you've entered, the selected occasion, budget range, and past gift history. Your own name, email address, and account details are never included in these requests.
We also use a search service (Serper) to find product images and shopping links for generated suggestions. Only sanitised product search queries are sent — no personal data is included.
Our AI providers do not use your data to train their models. Anthropic may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for safety and abuse monitoring, after which they are deleted.
5. Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted services to run Treazured:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and server-side functions
- Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication and push notifications
- Anthropic — AI gift suggestion generation (receives recipient profile data as described in Section 4)
- Serper — product image and shopping link search (receives sanitised product queries only)
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase management
- PostHog — pseudonymised product analytics
When you tap a "Buy" or "Shop" link in the app, you'll be taken to a third-party retailer website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your data is stored for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen. When you do, your personal information is scrubbed immediately (email, name, and push token are removed), all recipient data, saved gifts, gift history, and occasion information are permanently deleted, and your account is deactivated. The underlying account record is fully purged after a 30-day retention period. Pseudonymised analytics data and rate-limit records may be retained beyond this period.
A small amount of non-personal data is stored on your device (in the iOS Keychain) to enforce usage limits. This data contains no personal information and persists even if the app is uninstalled.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To request this, email us at [email protected] or use the account deletion option in the app settings.
8. Children's privacy
Treazured is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
As Treazured evolves, this policy will be updated to reflect new features. We'll notify you of any material changes via the app before they take effect.
